Hotels Galore

Its the end of February and we will be checking in to another hotel tomorrow, The Avillion Port Dickson. Supposedly the BEST resort in Port Dickson town, we shall experience what the hotel can give before making any confirmation. After the greaaaattttt stay at Hard Rock Hotel Bali, just two weeks ago, I doubt anything could come close especially knowing the wonderful malaysian hospitality offered by our hotels (being very sarcastic here).
Before I write down my review on Avillion in the next posting, I shall leave you with some of the wonderful photos of HRH Bali.... (already dreaming of my next trip there!)

Bali Work Trip

If you read the title, I assure you, you've read it right. I have returned from Bali, Indonesia for work. The trip was all paid for, by my Client, who required us (office) to source for good balinese furniture for his house that is currently under construction. Although this was not my first time there, but it was a first for furniture hunting purposes. A local driver was arranged for us throughout the 3 day 2 night trip and best of all, our accommodation for the trip was at Hard Rock Hotel, Kuta, Bali. From the time we arrived at the hotel lobby till the time we checked out, the service we received from the staff was A+... they were always so friendly, attentive and helpful to all the guest, local and foreign. I am saying this because, when I stayed at HRH Penang, Malaysia, the service was sooooo bad that I wrote a nasty review of them on tripadvisor. The staffs there obviously treated the foreign guest better than us locals. Makes my blood curl just thinking of the double standard service.

Coming back to the furniture hunting trip, the in thing now in Bali is retro/industrial vintage furniture. Although we need to take extra slow drive to identify the shops selling these pieces, but when we did, it was truly an amazing experience. All I can say is that Balinese Indonesian are a creative lot and they don't charge ridiculously for their amazing work. I am sure, if given more time, I would have discovered several more furniture gem in Bali. Well, here is hoping for another trip there....

So, for anyone requiring any info on good furniture shops/outlets in Bali, do please inquire the details from me. I'll be more than happy to assist :)

My Blog Birth

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you
Di mulakan dengan بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اﷲِالرَّحْمَنِ اارَّحِيم
Excitement, nervous, worry... all sums up the feelings I am feeling starting this blog. Well, the start of anything is definitely a mix feeling of some sort. First of all, I want to be clear on the language that I'll be using... it will be both in English AND Malay as that is what I speak daily. May have some grammatical errors here and there, but hey, who is counting, right?!

I have always preferred writing as the method of expressing myself, especially when conversing creates more damage than good. Kadang-kadang, kita bermaksud lain, yang terkeluar dari mulut lain.... hmmmphhh, nak tarik balik, dah terlepas. Seperti kata pepatah tu la  'Terlajak perahu boleh diundur, terlajak kata buruk padahnya'. Writing is the best way to get our message across, in my opinion. I also hope that this blog becomes my vent out channel... kira macam my dear diary la.

Being an architect has always been a dream of mine, only that then, I never realised that the journey to become one could be so long and stressful. No regrets but I do wish that I was more informed of the process and difficulties that I will face in achieving that dream. Throw in that you are also a mom of two teenagers and a toddler.... it gets way more interesting! Not complaining, am extremely thankful to whatever life throws at me.

Hopefully, I (in the process of writing this blog) will help female 'architect in the making' to have a start on of how life could be when choosing this profession. Till we meet again on the next blog.... wassalam.
